I'm rallying friends, writers, readers, and bloggers to make a commitment.
30 days of small kind acts. You can set a goal for one per day (like Penny Sullivan in the novel Stepping Into Sunlight) or one per week, or just one per month.
Sound fun? Sound scary? Sound impossible?
This site will provide community support, loads of ideas, and a place to share your cool experiences. Leave a comment at this post to show your interest.
Then use the posts here to help you think of creative ways to bless others through small acts of kindness, and please feel free to leave comments with your own ideas!
Blessings!

What an AWESOME idea! I'm in! Have you filled the September 4th slot? If not, I'd love to have it.
Way to go, Sharon! This is such a cool idea!
It's so fun to share the excitement about doing small kind acts for others.
Thank you!
No worries about assigned days. This isn't a formal blog tour for my book - just a month dedicated to sharing ideas and experiences in the small steps of love we try during September. I'm doing it as part of celebrating the book's release, but you can blog about the Penny's Project idea anytime you like during September, and I hope you'll pop by this blog often to share the kind acts you've tried!
Terrific idea, Sharon! I look forward to participating in Penny's Project in September. Judy
I have actually done something very similar before with my kids, inspired by Jim Stovall's "The Ultimate Gift" and its lesson on giving. Would love to participate in Penny's Project!

Thanks to all the new folk joining in! Be sure to stop back here often as the ideas start percolating!
Heather - Penny actually references the movie "Pay It Forward" in the novel Stepping Into Sunlight - in one of my favorite scenes of the book. :-)
Vader's Mom - I'm like you. I WANT to do this, but need the nudge of friends joining in to help me come up with ideas and stick with it.
Count me in.
Sharon,
What a fabulous idea! I have to play. And September is the perfect month for kind acts--that's when my husband was born.
Can't wait to read the book that inspired all of this--

Good morning all,
I just finished reading "Stepping into Sunshine" this morning and found this blog site. I am intrigued by the challenge of doing a random act of kindness DAILY. While I do them every once in a while, it has not become a daily act for me. I know the more I find myself meeting a need for someone else it reminds me to listen for the whispers from God and the promptings to look for opportunities. I have found when I don't do these kinds of acts, I become more centered around my own needs and overwhelmed by the tasks and struggles in my own life. Can you imagine how our attitudes would change if we were able to make this a daily habit. Exciting!! Thanks, Sharon for the challenge.
Hi, Alexzmom!
Thanks for posting!
I love the way you describe listening for those whispers from God that prompt us to reach out to someone.
Lord, make YOUR love alive in all of us! Amen!
