Please post your creative ideas in the comment section any time -
little acts of love, small steps of kindness, spontaneous deeds that bring joy to someone else.

From time to time I'll organize and compile ideas around themes and use them in posts.

A friend of my small prayer group recently sent her husband off to Iraq for the 3rd time and soon afer she and her children began to get on each other's nerves. She had been talking awhile about needing a break so we dutifully prayed for her for a few months. Not seeing her get any real relief, I really began to feel bad for her.

I finally I decided to offer to babysit her 3 kids. Her sister in law(also in the prayer group) invited her to see a play that same day. Needless to say, the play was marrow to her bones and she came back revived and refreshed.

We now have decided to babysit for her more often and to top it off she has great kids.

more than once while my kids were playing at McDonald's, I noticed a homeless man just drinking coffee. Each time I bought the homeless man two $1 sandwiches and had the manager deliver them. it's just a small thing, but I hope to those men it was a blessing.

Hi Sharon. I try to do my small acts at work. Right after I read your email, I had something happen and it made me think of you. I really LOVE working with people and working at a hardware store gives me that chance.

I helped a couple by walking them around and just chit chatting away like I normally do. They were so happy that I helped them (did my job) that they kept telling me how nice I was.

To me, I was just doing what I normally do, with a lot of happiness. To them, it seemed like it was so much more. If I can brighten one person's day by having a bit of extra cheerfulness at work, then I'm delighted!

Hi, Sharon. I really enjoyed reading over this info on Penny's Project. As a Christian, I feel it is my responsibility to show kindness and concern for others just as Jesus did each day in His life. I find it has not only blessed others but I too have been blessed as I go about my day just being nice to others. And as I be nice, I find more and more that God puts people in my path that need a kind word or simple help more often. A few simple ideas that I like doing are letting someone in line in front of me at checkout, or letting people out in traffic in front of me. I heard on the radio one day about it is in people's nature to always want to be first and not allow others to go in front of them and this is called being humble when you give up your 'right' to be first. It surprises people so many times when I step aside and say you can go in front of me. I also like to look for older people who may need help reaching something on a high shelf or may need their cart returned to the store (it's a long walk for an older person who moves slowly) or help load their groceries in the trunk on a rainy day. Older people seem to be the ones I come across the most that I help. I have lots of other ideas but this is getting long so will post later.

These are all such great ideas.
Soccer Kid's Mom - I LOVE the way you let people go ahead of you in line. A Christ-like way to live in ALL circumstances of life - and a wonderful real way to practice it daily. Thanks for sharing!
